Tell us about yourself:I'm 20 years old, born on Christmas. Am a full-time student at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. I love to play soccer, and if I'm up late with nothing else to do, I'll try and write a little poetry, which I have found to be a great stress reliever. My poetry has no basis in experience, thank God. I just go with the flow. I'm diabetic, so I try to take care of myself. Beyond that, there's not a whole lot to say. Tell us about yourself:I'm 46. I was a 60's liberal hippie type. I have taught English since 1973. I still am the rebel without a cause. My students love me for my ability to relate to them. I am responsible for the best 9th grade newspaper in the galaxy, an also do a really classy yearbook. I used to write poetry non-stop. I have also written other things uncluding two texts to be used by adult ed. or remedial ed. One is a science book. The other is a book on improving writing skills. Lately my students have been writing more poetry, and I decided to give it a try again. I'm as good as I ever was before I went to college and became an English teacher 25 years ago.

Tell us about yourself:I was born in Flint, Michigan, where it even seems cold
in the summertime. My father was a drug addict and my mother was a very weak
woman. (After their divorce, he was rehabilitated. She still has a long way to
go.) Fast forward, and now I am twenty-four, married to a canvas painter. We
live in Raleigh, North Carolina. I write because when I speak, people tend to
get hurt. I always write about real people, with the exception of some of my
stories set in the future. Major influences have been Maya Angelou, Nikki Giovanni,
and Toni Morrison. I enjoy music, but I usually get caught up in analyzing the
lyrics, so I have to listen to a lot of instrumentals if I want to relax to it.
I love simplicity in poetry. If it takes thirty paragraphs to capture an idea, I
try to do it in three words. I usually edit my writing ten times or more before
it suits me. And when people ask me to explain things (anything) it makes me angry.
