The Veil

Where can it be found
That elusive happiness
You so desire, you so need
Would it be beyond belief
That all you so cherish to have
Is now and always has been
Right there within your reach
Only to be loved the way
You want to be loved
Someone to just listen
When you need only an ear
Someone to care
When life isn’t quite fair
Someone that can see you
For the person you are
Someone to shower you
With symbols of their love
Secure enough in your love
To let your wings spread in flight
Without fear you’ll return home
All you could have yet still
There is more that you need
Only in truth with yourself
Can you ever hope to know
What hunger is left unnourished
For the sustenance you seek lies
Behind that veil where you won’t look
