A Sigh For Mary

Mary a lass of fallen knees
Golden hair pulled roughly by loving hands
A bleeding heart too troubled to know
Body racked with pain bringing about
Redemption of pleasure.

Mary a lass of rules and arrows
Piercing skin of tattoos and rings
Begging for a soul harking to another
Spreading open life to torment
Knife sharp in the gleam of days light
Slashing through the anguish.

Mary a lass of wretched cries
Fears of no one listening to care
Eyes blue with tears of gratitude to turn sorrow
Bruises covering the agony of defeat
Of ownership.

Mary a lass of collars and chains
Falls before altars naked with shivers
Laughter at her suffering bleeding on shoes
Pity such a loss fine in silks and satin
Throw away the key to sigh for Mary.
