Requiem of The Night

Dawn breaks into silent sorrow
from the soliloquy of night
Moments in time reach tomorrow
guided by it’s radiant light

The stars fade as memories
to the coming of twilight
The wind whispers it’s sadness
as it echoes their sad plight

Shadow’s guard the secret
to the songs solemn dirge
but memories won’t linger
to the dawns coming urge

Her tears forming the mist
enshrouding visions all in white
The moon cries in mourning
for this requiem of the night

Though time passes swiftly
on this lonely place called Earth
night reclaims her passing
comes the dusk of her rebirth
