among the scent of kittens
I catch the glint
her eyes
how constant
the past
has caught
her
and I know it
little girl
who owned the world
wished dreams
on starlit nights
of lovely mothers
and then come
the love
it stayed
the same
little girls
loved old kittens
and rolling in dust
dust to dust
we never change
but nothing
stays
smokey scented
little girl
but the smell
did never repel
only kept me nearer
a scent that I
could never
explain
and here I see
with quiet kitten smells
the return to memories
and a place never
changing
little girls
and kitten
smells
I saw
tearful
acceptance
in your eyes
and never
will
it go
away
