Quiet desperation
Often grips my heart-
Desire to write my feelings
Not knowing where to start.
Sometimes I commit folly
Before I realize-
And for my poor submissions
I now apologize.
Ode to a Truckstop Waitress
Was surely second rate-
To stoop to write the sloppy
A poet truly hates.
And likewise was the "Glory Road"
Though much more to my taste
Yet still it pains me greatly
The posting space to waste.
So to my peers and critics-
Your silence quite replies
To all these allegations.
I do apologize.
