Things that may never come
As I sit alone in my thoughts I think of all that may never be
The ups and downs in life that will neither help nor hurt me
The joys that might not warm my heart
Pain that may never tear it apart
The dreams I might not chase
Reality that may never seem to have a place
The smiles I might not give
Tears that may never fall while I live
The understanding I might not get far
Confusion that may never show who we are
The love that might not touch my soul
Hate that may never lose its control
The strength that might not be when in need
Fear that may never miss a chance to be there in deed
The words that might not tell of me and you
Emptiness that may never answer the question of who
These question and doubts they clog up my mind
Slowly they are answered as my life begins to unwind
