soul creeps thru down the walls
and out into the streets
where old men are coughing life and memories
into the cracks of sidewalks.
somewhere they are celebrating a birthday.
when we die would we kill for another twenty years
or bless the hours passing as we watch?
soul creeps down into the walls
and out into the summer heat.
i pledge to hunt down the last drops of hope
until i find love
or sleep
and dream.
