Why a form of art
Which departs from accepted
Parameters set?
To touch and stir hearts
To intrigue and challenge head?
And leave unfulfilled?
Vocabulary-
To wrest it into meaning-
Things not intended.
Rhythm and meter-
The very substance of music
Flippantly cast off.
While challenging, true-
Perhaps it serves to feed egos
Who can't attain rhyme.
A rebel, myself?
Perhaps, yet perhaps a voice
In defense of art.
