She is no bigger than a minute
Standing five feet tall and a hundred pounds
Only twenty seven years of age, this month
With her hair and eyes of brown
She can cuss and carry on like a sailor
Tough as nails, just as all those men
She has made it a lifetime goal
To show them all, that she will win
Boots and jeans and t-shirts
Are the clothes she mostly wears
She wears very little makeup
And has short, wavy, windblown hair
A figure that makes most women jealous
So very few female friends, she has
Skin so pure, like peaches and cream
A smile that will melt the heart of any man
A face of beauty, that she does not see
Though she hears it everyday
Leaves her wondering why each time
The men she has loved, have turned away
Her nails are short and manly
Her hands are callused and scarred
But she wouldn't change a thing about them
She is proud of how she's worked hard
She would challenge any man
Just to set the record straight
That she is as tough and strong
Despite her height and weight
Somedays she just gets the urge
And puts on her Sunday best
Her children smile and tease her
"Mom, you look like a girl, wearing that dress"
Although her outward appearance
Is not what makes her whole
It seems to be so important to others
And that sometimes makes her cold
She is a blacksmith and a farrier
Which intimidates some men
And the bond she has with animals
Strikes fear sometimes in them
Stubbornness from the German in her
Usually has no place to hide
And sometimes she has a temper
From her fighting Irish side
Most of the time she is ornery
Though she does have a tenderness
She is romantic, caring, and loving
Sexy and sensuous
She has manners and politeness
Dresses and ruffled sheets
Too rough to be called a lady?
You tell me what you think
