He gave me
A bouquet
Of red, peach and white
Roses--
A gold bow
Made my eyes sparkle
When the sun hit
The window
Looking into the back yard;
Wind of October
Swept away the leaves
And I called out his name
"Anton..."
As it got intertwined
Into the melody
Of- "Autumn's song."
Season of pumpkin pies
And leaves changing
Colors,
But the roses--
Left the fragrance
As if it was May
