Nature fights back

Nature Fights Back The mountain slope looked like a green blanketthrown over the back of a chair near an open window, sunlight on wool. Thorny bushes protected the slope from humans, foxes, rabbits, the hunter and the hunted, kept nature’s fine balance no need for the fox to seek human habitat in search for food. That is, till an access road was built that made it possible for four wheel drives to reach the top. Now elderly men, with yellow teeth and beer bellies came, they spoke tough, laughed when they missed and hit a dog hunted rabbits to near extinction; foxes too they hunted but with less success. In the valley dogs barked in the night and chickens where killed en mass till a cry went up: eradicate the fox it’s a pest and is stealing our food…Poison, traps and shotguns and when the fox was almost eradicated, the landscape was over-round by rats which grew as big as rabbits, but had evil in their hearts and a deep contempt for man which they felt were brothers that had forsaken them and brought pestilence to bear. The humans who survived fled, now the fox came back killed and chased rats which fled like man and set up home in cities sewers. The rabbit timidly arrived and natures was again in perfect harmony
