Shy Ones

Courage overcoming pride and blushing fears
Like the rose sensitive to the sun blushing as it blooms

A sight so magnificent to behold
To see a shell slowly open and the shy be bold

Tossing aside fears swallowing that lump in their throat
And speaking their thoughts as they emerge

Ignoring the sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach
While Butterflies dance about they speak out

They take a step from behind that wall Built so high for protection
Sweet victory to see they can survive breaking free

There is no shame in a slight pink face or nervous shake
Shy stutter in words of nerves steeled for courageous acts

Bravery growing within the beautiful shy ones
Sweet beautiful shy ones
