rules below pertain to all Empires, and every page within Spyder's Poetry Empire unless
otherwise specified. Since there are links pointing to this page on
every Empire, instructing you to READ BEFORE YOU POST, in posting at
Spyder's Poetry Empire, you agree to the rules of the site and are bound
by them.

you post work here...
here are a few simple things to keep in mind:

CONSENT for Spyder's Empire, Spyder's Poetry Empire
When you post any formal
poetry/writing on any Empire within Spyder's Empire you agree to the following:
- I hereby truthfully swear and
certify that the poetry/writing submitted to Spyder's Poetry
Empire is my original work, word for word and has never been
copyrighted or, if copyrighted, that I am the sole copyright
owner.
- I understand that the poetry/writing
I freely submit to Spyder's Poetry Empire will be published on the
Internet at Spyder's Poetry Empire. I also understand and agree
that the poetry/writing that is posted in Spyder's Poetry Empire
(except Reflections, Graffiti or the BB) may be published in print
at Spyder's Poetry Empire's expense.
- You agree that your original
poetry/writing was posted to Spyder's Poetry Empire by
yourself freely and without obligation, promise of
payment/compensation or royalties of any kind (past present, or
future), endorsement, or guarantee of publishing, either through
the Internet, or printed material - such as a traditional printed
published book - that is a production of Spyder's Empire.
- The posted and or published in print
poetry/writing remains your copyrighted material and that you have
given Spyder's Poetry Empire the right to publish your
writing/poetry (that is posted to the site) both on the Internet
and/or in printed material.
- The "Bark n Toast" policy is
as follows: if you come here and create trouble, you will be barked
at (a warning) via email from SPE. If the trouble persists, you will
be toasted (banned from posting on SPE).
- Spyder's Poetry Empire holds NO
exclusive rights to your work whatsoever. This means that you are
free to publish your work both to the Internet at another site
and/or publish it in printed form.
- You agree that under no circumstance
whatsoever - will Spyder's Poetry Empire remove your
poetry/writing from the internet, or remove it from a printed book
at any time. Read further information about
this subject at [34a].
GENERAL OVERALL RULES OF THE SITE:
[1]  When
you post, you are limited to a combined total of 10 posts of writing
AND responses/comments within a 24 hour period. If you go
above 10, ALL of your work/comments on the page where you over-posted
will be deleted. There are no exceptions to this rule. Pay
attention and keep track of how many you are posting/commenting to.
[2] When
someone comments on a piece of your posted work, please do not post
back to them on the main page, regardless of what Empire of poetry
your are posting in at the time. This fills up the page so quickly,
that it would have to be archived daily. If you would like to respond
back to them, you may do so through E-mail, the BB, or The Graffiti
Empire. If you do post a comment back to a response they left,
the entire post, beginning with the original work, will be deleted.
[3] If
you are posting here for the first time, try to post your work slowly
to the site. I know you have boxes and files full of poetry you would
like to put out here... but it really is better to enter them in 2-3
at the most a day. In this manner, the writers of the site will get to
know you at a more even pace. As an onlooker, I see that when a mass
posting occurs, rarely, if ever, are any of the pieces commented on.
It is overkill to mass post. In addition, once the page is archived...
you have isolated a block of your work, whereas if you posted it
gradually, it would be even spaced through out the archives.
[3a] When
you post - post under one name. For example - my legal name is Nancy Imelda Schafer,
by everyone calls me by my nickname §pyder. I can only post using ONE name - so I use Spyder. If you post
using two names, your work will be deleted. Example - if I posted like
this:
Nancy Imelda Schafer - aka Spyder, or Nancy Imelda Schafer (Spyder) -
it would be deleted. Pick ONE name to post under.
[4] If
you post a blob of un-formatted, un-spaced blob of text as one long
block of text, your work will be deleted. I will not allow sloppy
posting. Here is an example
of what Spyder's Poetry Empire considers an unacceptable post.
[5] The
main page usually has a life of 5-7 days, then it is archived due to
the amount of work/comments left. To read more about The Archives, and
how they work, click
here. You may only post a piece of work ONCE - and only once on
the main page. This means that if you posted something back in January
1998, and it was archived - you may NOT re-post it again. You may
however re-post it in another Empire. (see below). If you double post
work on the main page - you will receive a 10 day suspension, and if
you do it again, you will be banned from posting anywhere on SPE.
[6]-revised
3-28-2000 The
only Empire that will be archived is the MAIN PAGE. It is the forum
that is most used, and carries the bulk of archived work. Every other
Empire within SPE will be cleared when the page grows to an unloadable
size. Chatting back and forth with responses on a post in ANY Empire
except Graffiti, Critique and the BB is still not acceptable (see rule
[2] about chatting back and forth).
[6a]
Also...you may post the same work in more
than one Empire! What this means, is that if you post something in
The Empire of Romance, since The Empire of Romance will NOT be
archived, you may post the same piece on the main page - which WILL be
archived. This will assure that you have the option to have your work
remain on the site in the MAIN PAGE ARCHIVES.
[6b] Beware -
the Main Page has a rating of PG13. Some posts that are O.K. in ANGST
or the DarK EmpirE - will not be suitable to be posted on the main
page. WARNING - the ONLY place Erotica may be posted is if you are an
accepted member of Empire:EROTICA. Any person posting erotica on the
main page, will be banned immediately.
[7] I
highly suggest you E-MAIL PROTECT©
your work BEFORE posting it... Read
about it here. You must protect your work YOURSELF FIRST - in
addition to E-MAIL PROTECT© by SPE.
[7a] If
you post work on the site - and do not make a copy of it and save it
to your computer - you are a fool. Please don't write to SPE
complaining that you hit the back button from using E-MAIL PROTECT©
and your work was not in the form anymore. SAVE YOUR WORK FIRST - then
post it here. If you write "on the fly," you are flying
without a net.
[8] Each
"Empire" within Spyder's Poetry Empire, has a theme and
general guidelines of itself. I have rated the Empire's Of
Poetry and used the guidelines of the movie industry to do so, as they
are recognizable and generally understood easily

- Poems and writing which the writer feels can translate into
music. Occasional adult language and themes.

another writer) and see their reflection in their answers.

pertain exclusively to Science Fiction and Fantasy - (NOT sexual

- The Round Table is a place to have an intelligent discussion. It is a place to meet minds with others. A place to talk about current events, philosophy & life. This is a forum for serious discussion ONLY.

- Work here is deals with the tile of the Empire. It is happy, sad,
hopeful.
[25] Empire
ELITE - R
- This is a membership only Empire. You must first apply and be
accepted to post work. Work posted here has a content combination of
all the other Empires of poetry
(with the exception of the BB and the Graffiti Empire).
There is no ability to post follow-up comments or responses. This
site is fully archived. Empire

[26] -

[27] The only Empire's
that support 'nearly free' speech, are ANGST and Erotica. And even
then, they are not completely what 'free speech' constitutionally
means. Please do not write to Spyder's Empire complaining that your
right to free speech is being hampered. As long as I am the proprietor
here, I say what is acceptable and unacceptable for viewing within
each Empire of Poetry.
Here is where I draw the line on certain issues -ABSOLUTELY no
exceptions;
- [28] I will not allow
or tolerate child pornography in any way, shape or form. I
will not have writing posted on Spyder's Empire that deals with
it.
[29] Bestiality...
is out.
[30] Gay bashing.
Spyder's Empire does not tolerate gay bashing. Homosexuality is a
fact and way of life, and it is accepted here.
[31] Racism
... is OUT, OUT, OUT.
[32] The ANGST Empire and
Empire:Erotica each have a separate FAQ for their guidelines.
Please read and understand them before you post there. The
ANGST Empire FAQ - The opening page to Empire:Erotica is the FAQ.
[32a] SPE is not the place
to post in a drunken stupor, or when you are high. Go sleep it
off. If you post nonsense when you are drunk or high, you will be
banned from ever posting here again.
[32b] I will remove all
posts that advocate the use of drugs. Drug and alcohol abuse are
serious issues, and I will not promote them in any way. This also
applies to posts praising the fact either that getting drunk and
acting stupid is funny or cool. It's not. Here are my reasons
if you care, it was one of the first pages posted on
spydersempire.com way back when....
[33] If
you write about the above matters, you will loose all posting
privileges on Spyder's Empire. Remember, posting here IS
a privilege. If you don't like or agree with the rules that are
written above, don't write and tell me, this is the stand I have
taken. Please don't post a hate letter to me on my site either to that
effect. These are the guidelines set down by Spyder's Empire. If you
do not agree with the guidelines, find another site that condones it
and post your work there.
[34] Please
be advised - if you post here - you have authorized Spyder's Poetry Empire to
display & publish your work on the internet or in printed
form as described above. Be careful what you write -
and know that the whole world has the ability to read your words.
[34a] Spyder's
Empire will
not go back - AT ANY TIME - through the archives of work,
or to any current Empire and pluck out work submitted here because you either had a change of
heart, you don't like what you wrote, or don't like the name you wrote under, or used the wrong name
when you submitted work, just don't want to post here anymore - OR FOR
WHATEVER REASON. This rule applies to the whole website of
Spyder's Poetry Empire.
[35] As
with any business, establishment, community - life.. there are
rules. This site is solely owned by Nancy Imelda Schafer.. who
makes the rules. You may post here, and are welcome as long as you
follow the few rules of this site. Like in a bar... if you are
rowdy, a bouncer shows you to the door... so will I if you come here
thinking that the world owes the right to post nasty, insulting and
slanderous things here - the "Bark n Toast" Policy will be
enforced. If you are asked to stop posting here - or are
banned by myself - and you continue to post, I consider it electronic
harassment, and is punishable by federal law. Just because this
site is on the internet - it is not here for you to rumamuck on. Nor
is this site "free speech." Like any business, any
establishment - determines what is acceptable and unacceptable in the
"outside world," so do I here at Spyder's Empire.
[35a]The

responses at any time without prior notice or explanation.
