"Be Blind To Prejudice"

If we could not see and were blind in our eyes
No one would have to put on any disguise
We would not know that our skin color was different from one another
We truly be sisters and brothers
To have to be blind as not to have these prejudices is sad
Why can't we live with the good and even the bad?
Prejudice is a sickness which there is a cure
You can rid yourself of it; that's for sure
Color is beautiful in nature and the like; you know
So why can't color of the skin be another kind of rainbow?
Be blind to prejudice; give it a try
You have no valid reason to pass it on by
God created us all to live on this earth together
We all need each other through life's stormy weather
We all have so much to give one another
Every woman, man, sister and brother
We can make this land of milk and honey
For a great society
If we forget the color and have better priority
Be blind to prejudice
That is my ultimate wish.

"The Children"

The children will guide us
Over them we must make a fuss
They are the future leaders; these daughters and sons
Peace must be the way....not with guns
They say a child shall lead us
Let's sit down, we must discuss
Poverty, abuse, drugs are all crimes
Have to stop pinching pennies, nickels and dimes
Education is the back-bone of understanding
Knowledge is very commanding
Our hope are the children, for they are the future
They will grow and will mature
Give them the best growing foundation
For with them, we will have a better nation.

"Atrocities Of Hitler"

Jew or not, never forget what happened a long time ago
Every man, woman and child should remember and know
The atrocities that were led by this insane man
America looked the other way; this country; this land
Only because they, the Jews, had a different belief
He gave the Jews horror and tremendous grief
we now say, "Never again"; that is every Jew's vow
If only we had it said then; it would not be necessary now
The people have to always remember those times with the fullest of meaning
To take six million Jews and do what they did
Degrading, atrocious and damned demeaning
That time it was the Jews who were slaughtered by gas and ovens, oh my Lord; where were you?
Just because they were a Jew.

"Can You Feel The Hunger?"

There are children going hungry all over the world, you know
How can we stop the hunger; can anyone tell me so?
There is plenty of food being stored and going to waste
The people responsible
Man; that's in bad taste
All the talk; all the chatter
Doesn't change the immediate matter
open your hearts, your eyes; so you can open your money
Get it together; make their lives a little more sunny
The time is now, the time is right
To take the look from their faces all filled with fright
Hunger is painful, hunger is mean
Feed a child; make their eyes gleam
Do it for them; do it for yourself
Put in your bid
Dammit.....just do it!

"Hopes And Prayers"

We need to hope, we need more prayers
We live in a world that is full of dares
Life is not the same as it used to be
It has become dangerous for you, for me
Why has this happened
Especially in our very own land?
We are the richest land in the world
Why have we become so tarnished and soiled?
We have laws, but they are not obeyed
Liberty and justice has begun to fade
The right to live the way it is right
Has gone astray, seems like it happened overnight
We, the people are in a rage with promises not heeded
Where are all the things that are desperately needed.

"Rhonda"

We have hopes dreams we wish to reach
I gaze at my grandchild Rhonda; my beautful peach
Her spun gold hair and the bluest of eyes
She is only three; but oh so very wise
When she smiles at me with her innocent eyes and face
I find a piece of heaven that fills my space
Oh, the wonders of a grandchild, each day I see
I am so lucky to have her; Rhonda Lee
I love my daughter, I love my son
Now, this little child, this little girl; how my heart she has won
You may search the world over, look near, look far
there is nothing more wonderful then to hear, " I love you grandma".

"When Your Parents Are Gone"

As you grow, you learn and you think
You remember your mom at the kitchen sink
Your dad goes to work to bring home the money
You grow up thinking the world's all milk and honey
When you are little and even as you age and start new endeavors
You think that your parents will be around forever
You marry a young man that you adore
You have a child, and then one more
Your parents are there to love your children too
Now, your children are grown...like a bolt from out of the blue
Even if you are getting older, if your parents are still around
You always feel safer and more sound
Then, one day, all of a sudden, your world breaks apart
You lose your mother; you have a broken saddened heart
You must go on for you have children and an aging dad
You've lost your mother; the best friend you ever had
It hurts, it pangs, your eyes filled with tears
It was something you had always quietly feared
You witness your dad on a decline
You remember how he used to be; this father of mine
The years, the age has taken its toll
Mom has now called him and he's ready to go
Now daddy is gone; he's with mommy at peace with no pain
The sky opened up.....is it God's tears; or nature's rain?
If not for your children; you would not want to go on
Once your parents are gone.

"For My Son; For My Daughter"

I am not a queen, nor a princess
Just a mother, I guess
To me, my son; you are a prince
To me, my daughter, you are a princess
All I ever wanted for you both was happiness, health and success
I married at nineteen and on my wedding day
wearing the most beautiful gown with my own tiara, if only for one night
My groom and I made a very attractive sight
I love children and wanted six; but had to settle for two
Divorce saw to that; so two had to do
I tried to do the best I could
Raising my children the best I should
There are no rules of where to look
No guide-lines in a written book
I love you my son, I love you my daughter
I would choose no other
I just wanted to be to you a good mother; and when I am gone; no longer here
My hope is that you will hold me dear
I hope good memories stay in your minds
I hope you will say I was loving and kind
I will not be able to leave you both material treasures; but my devotion and love
I will try to watch over you from above
Jackie, my son, you're a wonderful son and man
Please always keep your stand
Donna, my daughter, my girl, my image....stay strong
You are always in my heart; where you both forever will belong
If there is truly another life here-after
We can be once again together with joy and laughter
I was lucky to have you both to hold so dear
These are my words so very sincere
Life goes on no matter what
Be happy and grateful for what you got
Love is the answer to heal all things
Look for tomorrow and see what good things it will bring
Love you forever....will leave you never. Mom.

"Sounds Of Life"

The day begins, a baby cries.. someone marries,; someone dies
Some flowers grow while others wither
Someone is warm, some shiver
The clouds brought a thundering rain
The sun comes out and it's nice again
The sounds of life
You go to work, others stay home
He writes a letter, she talks on the phone
Sounds of life
Some have it easy...others struggle
Someone pushes away while some snuggle
The clock ticks on no matter what
try to be happy with what you got
There are those who sing; those who dance
One hesitates; one takes a chance
There may be times filled with stress and strife
that's what it is all about; it's the sounds of life.

"These Hands"

These hands held you close to my heart when you first were born, you know
These hands fed you nourishment to help you grow
These hands wiped and powdered your body so small
These hands hugged you and reprimanded you when one or the other was called for, as you must recall
These hands dressed and undressed you until you were on your own
These hands bathed you and your hair I did comb
These hands wiped away your tears from your fears
These hands held yours for crossing the street
These hands cut the food that you would eat
These hands gave you medicine to make you better
These hands wrote you cards and loving letters
These hands, my son, gave you strength when you felt alone and down
These hands, my daughter, helped button your wedding gown
These hands, ten fingers, taking messages from my heart
These hands will always be there for you; until it is time to part
These hands, even after I am gone
Will forever be on your shoulder,; to help you to go on.
