The EmpireChapbook
of:
"Cyprian"
|
"Nightmare"
A helpless cry in the middle of the night
A silent scream that can't take flight
Of all the fears
Of all the tears
Of all the fires that of life it sears
A running shadow through the brush
A flying nightmare within the "hush"
Of all the Dreams
Of all that seems
Of all the dark lights distant beams
A fearful thought admitting truth
A frightened soul of influenced youth
Of all that may
Of all we say
Of all the hopes for just the next day...
"The Quiet"
Of nightly bliss and memoirs old
Of secret loves and thoughts untold
The quiet will sit and stare into space
While others talk of forbidden lace
The quiet thinks and softly waits
as if to draw and force others fates
The darkness gets dark
and the silence grows cold
As all the others live life's a thousand times told
Yet still the quiet will sit
Waiting for a fire to be lit
To see the flames rise and rage
Against the walls and confines of his cage
Of nightly bliss and memoirs old
Of secret loves and thoughts untold
The quiet will sit and stare into space
While others fear and each other embrace
"The candy store"
The light of day passes me by
As autumn leaves start to fly
Running swiftly down the road
and through the garden of Mrs. Brode
Beneath the shadows dancing about
and around the corner without a doubt
until finally reaching the very best store
The store filled with dreams and very much more
The store filled with youth and memories untold
where lovers sat and candy was sold
Just the smell lured them in
Just the wave and the counter mans grin
This was the store in the quaint little town
This was the store to which dreams were bound
Its still there to this day
Still making dreams, or so they say
So if you ever walk down that road
and through the garden of Mrs. Brode
Remember that store in that quaint little town
and stop in a while just to sit down.
"Dear Nobody"
Living life without one to hold
staring on never to be told
The truth of all ambitions found
in that single silent sound
emerging from the lighted dark
to stand the mind and to embark
that distant path of fearful tears
when heaven clears all our fears
but the love that hides within
but the need that we call sin
then she's there standing still
looking through the moments will
as if the emotion had almost lied
the life within all had somewhat died
then she'll turn and walk away
and this chaos will continue day after day
"A Poem to Be"
A distant thought
with paper in hand
a dream that fought
to take a stand
A whispered word
a silent glance
a view that's blurred
a life to chance
A demon face
with angels wings
leaves a trace
of many things
A lovely life
a worthless hell
a gracious wife
a truth to tell
In the end
a flash of light
gives a poet
a poem to write
"Society's Will"
I stood alone within the shout
while impressive visions began to doubt
the mind of which I've come to see
which silenced all just to be
That one and single extolling fear
Extracting an innocent Darkening tear
As swiftly heard my echo flew
When all the others thought they knew
The utter chaos in Reality today
losing our youth to the games we play
Until it crashed and failed to light
Engulfing us into eternal night
Then the silence grew to close
As all was black as a wilting Rose
Until it died from wilting all
As the ground collapsed as Death would call
"A Dark April Night"
When it came it consumed
When it flew it presumed
Of all the worlds in snow globes wide
The twisting fate would not abide
Then the darkness fell in sheets
covering light in the morning meets
People looked upon the sky
People fought to wonder why
Prayers were said and love was spoken
For Heaven save there passage token
Promises made never to be
While kisses were stolen and we were set free
Even the night was not as cold
Even the stars were not as bold
To fight the thing that consumed
To fight the thing that when flew presumed
Then the people looked once again
looked to the dark where it all began
And then they looked and saw the light
They saw the star that had dared to fight
The darkness broke and fell apart
The night came through to speak it’s part
Night had fought with it’s darkest thrills
And won the battle which evil kills
"A Chance meeting"
Evil came and grinned at me
It tipped its hat and set me free
Then it turned and walked away
Disappearing as we all would say
I stood there staring into the night
Feeling cold and consumed by fright
The wind swirled around the stony path
twisting my soul into a horrid wrath
Time has passed me flying by
Never stopping to deny
the times in life that have grasped my soul
and showed it things as black as coal
The winter winds had scared my skin
as I stand out side at awe to only grin
The dim existence that we have made
Will swallow us whole in deadly shade
Then again we will be born
To rise and stand as if never torn
"October Skies"
softly still the rain will fall
as all illusions pass in the fall
Light shadows upon the ground
as people scurry to where there bound
October skies calm and warm
soothing souls before the storm
red and orange leaves litter the streets
blowing gently in the morning meets
sound will stop and sit to stare
rustinling through the trees with the slightest care
while time will stand still just to embrace
the place where heaven has a face
souls will rest and break this day
The children will run and continue to play
"Memoir of the Romance"
A loving touch
A delicate tear..
A word of such
That time's end is near
Friends will smile
And say goodbye
Remembering the memories
While inside they sigh
All has seize
And come to an end
All has departed
To drift in the wind
Yet sadness shall hide
And shadows will fall
Corruption will seize
With death to it all
Dreams will stand
And memories will stay
Love will not be forgotten
On this last dreary day
For as prophecies will call
And romance will thrive
So gather your tears
As to love say goodbye
