"Father"
When I look into the mirror I don't see what you see
But when I look into my heart
From where you'll never part
I know that it is me.
With on your part so much grief and despair
Not sure that you know
Because I fail to show
But I assure you love is there.
How long can one be sorry without ever speaking the word
How can you forgive
And go on to live
When my actions had been so absurd?
For when I look at you there is this bright glow
That only I can see
'Cause you're like an Angel to me
And apart we will never grow.
If I had ten thousand wishes I'd give them all to you
I want you to have everything
In return for all the joy you bring
It would be the least that I could do.
For all the times I turned my back
For when I walked out that door
And your heart hit the floor
I wish I could take them back.
My father my hero, if it was nothing I had learned
Could I look in your eye
And still tell a lie
Without my heart being freezer burned?
Therefore I put you on a pedestal for thats where you belong
No father could do what you do
Or ever make it through
All the times I done you wrong.
All the times I hurt you, I think hurt me more by far
To see the pain in your eyes
And hear your cry's
Inside me had left a deep scar.
When I try to think of another hero I can't think of a single soul
For your deeds are so great
And the Heaven you create
Makes anyone else seem so dull.
To be able to give you more, than just those feelings of woe
To tell you I love you
And there's nothing I wouldn't do
For the greatest man, My father, My Hero.
