"Labyrinth"

While walking the road of life
I seem to have made a wrong turn.
For I ended up in a Labyrinth
Where my freedom I must earn.

Once I was in this Labyrinth
There is no turning back.
All doors are locked behind me
In front of me is all black.

I wanted so badly to get out
But I kept on making mistakes.
The more I wanted freedom
The more effort it would take.

Even though I kept walking forward
It all just looked the same.
There were no slight changes
And I have only myself to blame.

The labyrinth was filled with colors
That only I could see.
It was filled with happiness
That everyone felt but me.

This labyrinth was filled with music
Coming from my mind.
I was losing everything important to me
That I had no desire to find.

My friends on the other side of the wall
Were calling for me to come out.
But I had already giving up trying
For my mind was filled with doubt.

So I built myself some wings
Took a leap and started to fly.
Below me was the labyrinth
I smiled and let out a sigh.

Only a few hours later
I found myself falling towards the ground
For my wings had faded away
Nowhere to be found.

When I finally came to
I was back where I'd been before
Inside the same old labyrinth
Only to try to escape once more.

Finally giving up all hope
Realizing my whole life had been a lie
I built myself some wings
Took a leap and started to fly.
