"If You Would Love With Me"
.... I cannot be all things to you, but what I can be I will.... I will be
there for you when that is your need
....and step back without protest when you need your own moments.... I will
love you above all others save god.... without reservation, nor
restriction.... placing upon you no unrealistic expectations of change,
that my own fears be soothed.... I will freely admit to you, and take great
joy in the acknowledgment that I need you.... not just for me, but also for
you.... and all that you are, and still to become.... I will open and
welcome you.... through all the doors of my life that I have kept closed to
those before you.... and share with you all that I am today's well as all
that my future may hold.... I will in all things try to understand your
point of view, and respect your opinions.... knowing they hold as much
merit as my own.... I will carry this one absolute about you as long as we
both shall love.... that we are both equal in all things basic to a lasting
relationship.... so if in some things you would let me lead... then in some
things I would follow.... that we may learn, each from the other.... about
life, about love and about tomorrow.... if you would love with me.
