"I'm Sorry"
Visions passing my by
While staring at the horrifying sight
Your body lay there in the street
Slowly moving towards the light.
And although I wasn't there
To see you dyeing then
I hope the Lord will forgive me
For I felt that I had sinned.
When I look up at the Heavens
And try to speak to you
I'm overwhelmed by emptiness
That only your presence could undo
The unwanted feelings of guilt
Take over the feelings of sorrow
Thinking of the times I shouldn't
The ones we could have had tomorrow.
When you stand and cry over a flower
It is given life and grows
When I cry over you
Only the memory is what never goes.
I fear I'll never be forgiven
And that all you'll have for me is a great sigh
For one lonesome tear
Was all that I could cry.
