Dyed and Permed Stars
a million distances away
have ways to get closer
close enough to play
the fun that we have
is no better than real
for the dyed and permed stars
have nothing that's sealed
they're loose and uncontrollable
and they're light will soon fade
at least I'll have memories
of games that we played
I want you to know
you're smart enough to see
that dyed and permed stars
have no reason to be
you can be a glimmer
within everyone's eye
you can be a shadow
if and when after you die
I'll believe you'll live
beyond any ordeal
the love I have for you is so much more than real
the dyed and permed star
lives outside not in our heart
can be changed into the rainbow
that you really are
always there
and always will be
after each rain
so let it all go
most importantly the pain
