Nancy Imelda Schafer
"Caution"
Into the depth of darkness I roam.
Arms outstreched,
Eyes shut tight.
Why open the eyes when there is darkness?
In concept... that is ok.
But what if there is a tiny spark of light to be seen?
If my eyes are closed, shall miss it.?
Perhaps.
If there is something in the darkness...
I know now it must seek me out, not me running after it.
Let the light come to me, and open my eyes.
With my eyes closed, I will not see it pass me by.
And I shall feel no more pain
...for I have felt enough.
