I've been thinking these last few days
About all the things I've done -
Seems to me I've been wasting my time
Trying hard to please everyone.
So I said to myself I'm going to change my ways -
>From now on I'm number one,
Cause when you're down there's no one around
To pick you up from the ground.
I've been thinking these last few days
About all the things I've got to do -
Seems to me I've got to pack my bags
And move on to somewhere new.
So I said to myself I'm going to take the next plane
And fly from these lonesome blues...
Oh Lord, I'm so down, but there's no one around
To pick me up from the ground.
