Tom Stewart

"Loneliness"

Lost forever wandering alone.
No one to talk with, nothing to do.
He looks around but sees only darkness.
But wait! There's a light up ahead!

What is it? What could it be?
Off in the distance, farther than he can see.
It's coming closer and even closer,
But it's only a comet that whizzes by.

Now it's gone; gone forever.
And again he's wandering all alone.
No friend, no life; only darkness.
And then the sun rises once again.
